I know this may seem out of the blue,
but it took me two whole years to recover from the absurdity of your
post. It's truly remarkable how many different types of wrong you've
managed to be with so few words. Interestingly, your bizarre concept
of skepticism somehow results in unintended approval of the argument
you appear to reject. In other words, by both denying Dr.
Lakshmikumar's skepticism and demonstrating a total and fundamental
error in your working definition of skepticism, you've remained
logically consistent while still being outstandingly wrong.
One
simply has no business throwing around logical fallacies like "straw
man" without bothering to examine the logic you're dismissing.
Even if you had correctly parsed the "quoted argument"
you're complaining about, you can't possibly evaluate its logic
without knowing what his argument is. You just read the quote, didn't
like it, and because you don't like it, you're rejecting it; this is
the same prejudice that affects the To misrepresent an
argument and then try to defeat that argument, as you're doing there,
is known as the straw man fallacy. Ordinarily, this occurs
deliberately, because the "straw" argument is easier to
defeat than the original one. In your case, you're just lazy, so you
carelessly read a sentence and decided your first attempt at parsing
it revealed a logical flaw so compelling that you don't even need to
glance at the sentence again, let alone read it in context.

For what its worth, equivocation is the
fallacy you were after, which is also not present here. Perhaps, had
you re-read the quote, which isn't an argument at all so much as a
description of *your* own reaction formation, you'd notice that ",
Planck’s law," was not an equals sign. Thus, your assertion
that the author was equivocating between photons (which you seem to
feel are a small "subset" of physics, were you referring
literally to their size?) and the entire body of quantum physics, is
non-sensical. My guess is that Planck's Law is foreign to you, and so
you saw a list of three discrete things as redundant parallelisms,
assuming that they all meant the first one. That's a generous guess
however, in that even if you're unclear on their meaning, the items
in that list don't structurally resemble one another.Finally,
you've confused skepticism for contrarianism, perhaps. This "body"
refers to the actual contemporary research that supports quantum
physics, and not to the timeless potential for all unknown
information about all things. When people speak of a "body,"
this is not referring also to all things outside that body which
could potentially be later incorporated.

The reason the doctor “doesn't seem
to accept” the “yet-unknown physical connection” is because one
does not exist. If it did, as he said, it would contradict the
theoretical framework of physics. This is not because we simply don't
have enough data to tell, it's because we know enough about
biological tissue and enough about electromagnetic radiation to know
it's impossible. True, the word radiation is there, which may bring
to mind ionizing radiation, but it would follow from this semantic
contagion that your car radiator is also carcinogenic. I
don't even have a glib analogy for what you're doing when you
unabashedly don't read an argument, and then indict the author for
not supporting the argument you didn't read. You claim that he does
not present evidence, but how would you know? You're responding to a
conclusion that implies the evidence you're demanding. You just read
the quoted snippet, did not magically become aware of its context,
and faulted the author for it.

Regardless, not accepting a claim until
the evidence supports it is the definition of skepticism. There's no
evidence for the risk, and beyond experimental data there is a
theoretical framework for rejecting the possibility of this risk.
“Cancers cannot be caused by EM/RF” is not the positive claim
here; how would one present evidence that addresses the possibility
that all previous evidence will be discredited by emergent and
paradoxically consistent new evidence at a later date?

You're calling it “possible,” that
we'll someday find evidence to support the claim that cell phones
cause cancer, but the scientific word for the phenomena you're
describing is “impossible.” You've shifted the burden of proof
with regards to the null hypothesis, which is not a positive claim
but rather a default position against which actual positive claims
can be made. One such positive claim, that electromagnetic radiation
causes cancer, does not hold up. There is no utility, least of all a
skeptical one, in confusing “acknowledge possible evidence to the
contrary” with “be irrationally contrary.”

mmmm...I would tend to with those who say, (J. Lear) that the best description of our society, would be complacent. That is to say, the generally widespread acceptance of a view which posits that because our current systems of economics, politics, and culture appear to be the result of inevitable forces (I kind of Marxism in reverse as it were),they are immutable and not themselves subject to any critical reconsideration: perhaps, we are "individually" and "collectively" under going a civilization shift similar to between late medieval and renascence eras....(Which is one reason why I reject "end-of-history" views. )

You mention a "deal" between the government and the pharma but you don't mention what the pharma is going to give up.
You say that the bill doesn't come from the “bottom-up” because there's a "deal" ( is there ???) but don't mention the 32 millions people concerned by the bill.
